No account. No telemetry. Nothing leaves your machine.

Treelace runs your own git program on your own computer. Commit messages, author names and emails, file contents and diffs are read locally and shown locally. Treelace sends no usage data, no crash reports and no analytics. The free edition makes no network requests at all.

Pro adds one request, about once a day: it sends your licence key, and nothing else, to treelace.com to renew it. You can switch that off. Push and fetch go only to your own git remotes, and only when you click them. Details are in the privacy notice.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Not for the free edition and not for Pro. Pro is unlocked by a licence key shown on screen straight after payment.

Which editors are supported?

Visual Studio Code 1.85 or later from the Visual Studio Marketplace, and editors that install from Open VSX (for example VSCodium). It needs git installed on your computer.

I lost my licence key

Get it again at treelace.com/recover with the email you paid with and the invoice number shown on your purchase page and order confirmation. We never email keys.

How do I cancel?

Any time at treelace.com/manage, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for.
